New Member Expands NRHI’s Reach to the Southeast

PORTLAND, ME – The Network for Regional Healthcare Improvement (NRHI), a national organization representing regional health collaboratives (RHICs) across the country, and a recognized leader in healthcare transformation, today announced a new addition to its membership network. North Carolina Healthcare Quality Alliance (NCHQA) joins NRHI’s network of member RHICs and state-affiliated partners working in the pursuit of better health, and high-quality, affordable care.

“NRHI is committed to addressing healthcare affordability by improving health, lowering costs, and reducing waste. With this focus, North Carolina Healthcare Quality Alliance could not be a better addition to our membership,” said Elizabeth Mitchell, president and CEO of NRHI. “NCHQA has had repeated success in improving chronic disease care, reducing hospital readmissions, limiting overuse of drugs and procedures, and generally improving the care given to North Carolinians.”

NCHQA’s strength lies in bringing the key players in healthcare together around a common mission: the transformation of healthcare delivery. The NCHQA Board of Directors fully reflects the complex dynamics of healthcare delivery, uniting physicians and other healthcare professionals, hospitals, payers, government, business, academics, consumers, community stakeholders, and other key entities. NCHQA provides a trusted place where leaders from across North Carolina’s healthcare system can work together to improve the quality of healthcare and the health of all North Carolinians.

“We’re excited to be part of a national organization that shares our most important goal – to improve the quality of healthcare so that people can live healthier lives,” said Alan Hirsch, president of NCHQA. “NRHI provides the opportunity for NCHQA to learn from the experiences of others throughout the country. We look forward to working with NRHI and its member organizations to identify resources, build on the successes of others, and implement new initiatives to address the challenges facing healthcare in North Carolina.”
